10 Tips for a romantic Valentine's Day:

---By James Su & Flora Wang Translated by Cara Steenstra

Tip No. 1
Soak in a hot springs…
What's better than a hot springs soak on a cool February day for two people in love? Secretly make reservations for a hot springs suite for two and decorate it with an air of romance. Your love is sure to rise a few notches when you can express your true emotions in this romantic private space.

Tip No. 2
Prepare a meal…
You might not be a trained chef, but don't forget that it is the thought that counts--allowing even a simple dish of fried eggs to taste better than the most expensive cuisine. Why not find an easy-to-follow recipe book from a bookstore and prepare a healthy, delicious meal for your darling?

Tip No.3
Write a love letter…
In this era of electronic communication, time is always spent in a rush. Take some time to quietly write your loved one a letter, do it by hand and express all those things that you are too shy to say face-to-face.

Tip No.4
Volunteer…
Couples that are in love are the happiest people on earth, so perhaps you might like to share your happiness with those less fortunate than you. Try volunteering at an orphanage or home for the elderly, putting your love into action and spreading your care to those who need it.

Tip No. 5
Role Play…
Have you been together for donkey's years? Is your love life lacking that certain "je ne sais quoi"? Why not indulge in a little bit of role playing or role swapping? Not only can experiencing life in another's shoes help you understand each other more, but you might also discover something new and interesting about your partner, too.

Tip No. 6
Go rock climbing…
If you are both athletically inclined, a quiet Valentine's Day might not be your cup of tea. So why not challenge yourselves to a day of extreme sports and go rock climbing? Like the tango, this activity requires synchronicity between two people, which will definitely help improve your relationship.

Tip No. 7
Experiment with adult accessories…
Sex can be a healthy, fun activity. As archeological findings have revealed, the use of objects for sexual enhancement is no recent invention. As long as they are used with a positive and healthy attitude, these toys can help enhance intimacy between lovers.

Tip No. 8
Take some photographs…
People in love always look good, exuding an aura of happiness. Why not ask a friend with some photography skills to capture these moments on film and help you cherish these memories?

Tip No. 9
Spend time in a motel or hotel…
Restaurants, swimming pools, gardens, jacuzzis, steam rooms, broadband internet and much more--where can one find all of these facilities in one place? For very reasonable prices, many motels offer five-star standard suites, just the perfect environment for lovers.

Tip No. 10
Browse a flower market…
Amidst a sea of flowers, it is difficult not to start feeling romantic. Apart from city-area flower markets, why not make an outing to the ZhongShe Tourist Flower Market in Taichung county's Houli township? There are seasonal flowers and plants that will amaze you, with over 700 different varieties. From the garden area, you can also enjoy the natural scenery of Huo Yen Mountain. Apart from strolling through the gardens, strawberry picking is available between December and April. There is also a buffet barbecue area, karaoke, as well as agricultural, crafts and floral products on display for sale. Pottery DIY painting and weekday DIY horticulture classes are available by reservation.
