I knew about Compass magazine before I even arrived
in Taiwan. My Lonely Planet guide book was describing
Compass as Taichung's most reliable, useful and
free source of information. And so on my second
day in Taiwan I went to look for an issue of the
magazine. I found one, read it and liked it. I
now get an issue every month and check Compass
anytime I'm looking for a good place to eat. |

I didn't know about Compass. Shortly after I arrived
in Taichung somebody gave me an issue because
I needed a map. I'm am still using the map now,
and also check the restaurant listing. I also
really like the cartoons in the beginning of the
magazine, it gives me a point of view on politics.” |

I read the magazine and then mainly use it for
the restaurants listing-for the addresses or to
find out about new places. |
