Are you looking for a peaceful place in the city where you can relax
and enjoy a spectacular view? Head for the UFO Revolving Restaurant,
on top of the Golden Plaza (Jinsha) building across from the Taichung
train station. As Taiwan¡¦s highest rotating eatery, UFO provides
a quiet, attractive place to hover above the city¡¦s bustle.
To enter
UFO, you¡¦ll have to take the building elevator to the 19th
floor before transferring to the restaurant¡¦s private elevator.
The restaurant's entryway on the 22nd floor is designed to
look like the interior of a space ship. The clear glass windows
provide an impressive view of the Taichung skyline. But, it
is up the flight of stairs to the seating area where you can
enjoy a 360-degree bird¡¦s eye view of Taichung, from the equivalent
of 48 floors high. On clear days, you may even see the tips
of far-off mountains such as the JiuJiu Peaks of Nantou. |

Be sure and make a reservation one month ahead of time if you¡¦d
like to be placed in one of these hot spots.
Food is served four times a day. Afternoon tea consists
of pasta, rice dishes, sandwiches and set meals. Prices range from
NT$200 to NT$300. Western-style lunches and dinners cost around
NT$800 to NT$1,600. Entrees include lamb, pig¡¦s knuckle, salmon,
and shrimp. Wine, salad, bread and soup come with all entrees. Dessert,
