PaPa's Pizza 2

98, FuYa Rd, XiTun district
停業 Closed

Papa's Pizza is the latest Taichung eatery to head west and open shop on the other side of the freeway. This popular pizza restaurant's second outlet--run by Canadian owner Patrick and his Taiwanese wife Anita--is a larger, more attractive space ideally located right by the intersection of FuYa and FuKe roads (see Compass map). The menu offerings are the same, with big American-style pizzas offered whole or by the slice, plus submarine and panini sandwiches, pita wraps, baked pasta, fresh salads and other items, for eating-in, take-out or delivery. Fourteen pizza varieties come in thick or thin crust and include flavors like the popular special Blue Cheesesteak (NT$410 13-inch, NT$310 10-inch) or the Pepperoni, Mushroom and Jalapenos (NT$370/280). Pizza by the slice (16-inch) is NT$60 with drink (free refills). Ten-inch oven subs (NT$130-195) include the Turkey Club, BLT and Cheese Steak, while pita wraps (NT$120-160) come in flavors like Greek with Dijon, or Chicken Caesar, with a choice of various sauces. Combo meal deals, like the NT$459 "Leg Up!" (1 medium pizza, 4 piece of chicken, 1.25L Coke) offer good value, too. Papa's 2 will deliver anywhere west of the freeway, including the Science Park and Tunghai University. --By Douglas Habecker, translated by Ann Lee
