When you step into Andrew, you're greeted by a pleasant sandalwood smell and Bollywood music over the restaurant's speakers. The dark brown/gold colored-theme and soft lighting gives this Indian place a nice blend of traditional India and modern decor--it really feels like a much nicer restaurant than the prices would lead you to believe.
Moreover, Andrew has recruited three internationally-certified chefs who've all had experience working in five-star hotels. Because they have such a great team preparing the food, the owner designed a "see-through" kitchen, so that patrons can watch the chefs do what they do best. Starting the list of their highly-recommended dishes is the boneless Lamb Takki (NT$330); marinated with yogurt and herbs for about 10 hours, this lamb dish is finally grilled over natural charcoal in a specially-made tandoori oven. It comes with three different dipping sauces.
Next on the list is Palak Paneer (NT$290). This creamy, green vegetable dish is made with cheese and spinach. Mumbai Chicken Adraki (NT$280), another popular dish, is made with chicken marinated in herbs, cashews, ginger and curry. If you like rice dishes, try the Shrimp Biryani (NT$320); it's made with long Indian rice, fresh shrimp, cashews, tomatoes, and onions. All of the dishes can be cooked to taste as well, so they will never be too spicy or not spicy enough.
When you are done with the main course, leave some room for desserts like Kashmeeri (NT$80) and Gulab Jamun (NT$100). From the beverage menu, choose either the Indian Milk Tea (hot), which has a rich flavor, or Lasi (NT$120), which comes in sweet or salty. At the moment, Andrew has a 20% discount on all their dishes, as well as business lunch deals from Monday to Friday.
