Gu Xian Mushroom Delicacies, a tasty choice for fungus lovers, was originally located on DaYa Road. After relocating to the NanTun district and updating their menu, the restaurant now serves all-you-can-eat hot pots made from Agaricus Blazei, Queen Bolete and 10 other kinds of mushrooms. The mushrooms are crushed into powder and mixed into the hot pot after it has been stewing for a while. You can try out different types of mushrooms like King Oyster, Maitake, Winter, and Abalone. The texture of the mushrooms is so crunchy and refreshing that you really won't get tired of eating them. The three best dishes here are the Crispy Plum & Sweet Potato (梅酥地瓜), the Hundred Mushroom & Sausage (佰菇香腸), and the Hundred Mushroom Dumplings (佰菇水餃). They are all must-tries at this fungal celebration. Other dishes include: Braised Pork and Mushrooms with Rice (香菇肉燥飯), White Mushroom & Drunken Chicken Liquor (洋菇醉雞酒), snapper, and vegetarian-friendly hot pots. --By Niang Chen, translated by Ann Lee
