One can enjoy the greenery of the Beitun Children's Park in the spacious setting of Cai Xiang Can Restaurant, almost 70 pings large. This place serves various Shanghainese dishes, cold cuts, seafood, meat dishes, vegetable dishes, tofu, and soups. There is also a 12-course set, starting at NT$2,000 per set with free rice. The quality and the quantity of the food and service have won over satisfied old and new customers alike. The owner, Mr. Chuan-Hsing He, is an expert in dish designs and has worked in the culinary field for 30 years. In that time, he has helped many other chefs start their own business and spread Shanghai cooking around the world. His restaurant specialty is Dongpo Pork, consisting of a fatty pork belly braised with monascus and spices, and served in a small hotpot to retain its hearty, warming flavors. --By Wang Xiao-ling, translated by Naomi Lai
