Kaiseki-ryori BBQ is the brainchild of a food-loving couple who have been employed in the culinary industry for nearly 20 years. The restaurant's high-end kaiseki ryori style BBQ is different from the typical all-you-can-eat restaurants around town. Kaiseki combines the fun of a do-it-yourself barbecue with the delicate art of kaiseki ryori style cooking to provide diners with an authentic Japanese culinary experience. Although this is not an all-you-can-eat restaurant, the one-person meal sets are still greatly satisfying. The restaurant owner often travels to famous Japanese dining establishments to seek out new knowledge, and the service and layered flavors are things you won't want to miss out on here. --By Natasha, translated by Naomi Lai

A. The restaurant's simple dark-colored decor and the subdued lighting that separates different interior spaces gives it the ambiance of a Japanese barbecue establishment.

B. This is first kaiseki ryori style BBQ restaurant in Taiwan. The restaurant uses a combination of stone slates with iron grills on top of charcoal to maintain steady temperatures. The 300-degree stone slate is the key to locking original savory flavors into the food. Instead of the normal grill-type barbecuing, here you fry the meat on top of these slates.

Kaiseki-Ryori BBQ C. The menu includes meal sets and single orders. You can try all types of flavors with the meal sets. The Meal Set A (NT$399) includes a choice of beef or pork, three sauces, Japanese salad, seafood platter, chicken platter, seaweed soup, rice with meat sauce, cold beverage and ice cream. If you really want to treat yourself to something special, you can go for the Wagyu Beef Meal Set (NT$2,280). There are also business lunch sets for NT$250.
