The well-known, long-standing Normandie Teppanyaki has expanded its reach to DaLong Road, in the heart of the busy shopping district around Tea Street. Reasonably-priced beef, pork and chicken main items start from NT$110. For an extra NT$100, you can also enjoy salads, soup, seasonal vegetables, drinks and desserts. Normandie offers a wide price range to suit various customers' needs, with higher-end selections including South Pole Cod, Top-Grade Pork Neck, Angus Kobe Steak and New Zealand Tenderloin, priced between NT$280 and NT$550. --By Niang Chen, translated by Sho Huang

A. Executive chef Deng Zhe-yi has 20 years of cooking experience, as he demonstrates with his attentive, swift and skillful cooking work with two spatulas. Just watching him cook generates hungry anticipation.

B. The tasty South Pole Cod (NT$280) has a unique texture and appetizing, lightly-fried golden color and fragrance. Once seasoned with rock salt and white wine, this dish is ready to go and is great dipped in a mustard sauce.

Normandie TeppanyakiC. The Angus Kobe Steak is NT$550 for 150 grams and comes from Japanese-bred cows raised in a special setting. The select lean and tender portions are grilled with non-salted butter and seasoned with rock salt and pepper for a savory, delicious taste.
