This eatery may be a small, but it boasts two very experienced chefs from the famed Tainan Tan-Tsu Mien Seafood Restaurant and Windsor Hotel's Japanese restaurant. This means that diners here are blessed with high-quality Japanese cuisine and genuine Tainan-style delicacies for reasonable prices. On weekdays, the restaurant provides a business lunch; for only NT$160, you can enjoy grilled mackerel, Thai chicken-leg steak, shrimp, salmon steamed rice, a salad, steamed egg, soup, dessert and seasonal fruits. Just about any typical Japanese entree can also be found here, including sashimi, sushi, stir-fry dishes, and fried and grilled items--all for very reasonable prices. --By Niang Chen, translated by Angel Pu
A. Jing Tai Lang's chefs use their wealth of experience to prepare high-quality cuisine.
B. The Spider Roll Sushi (8 slices/NT$200) uses a dried seaweed sheet to wrap a crab stick, egg, cucumber and fried soft-shell crab. Between the steamed rice and dried seaweed sheet is herring roe, with the yellow mustard enhancing the crispiness of the cucumber and crab.
C. The Sashimi Set Meal (NT320) features seasonal fresh sashimi that is juicy and sweet. This set comes with salmon rice, salad, steamed egg, soup, asparagus hand-roll, seasonal fruit and roasted sweet potato. The special asparagus hand-roll contains shredded chilled green peppers, carrots and onions, and offers a very refreshing, slightly-spicy flavor that promises to arouse your taste buds. Individually-ordered rolls are NT$40 each.
