Yong Xiang Traditional Snacks, from the famed traditional Changhua town of Lukang, has finally arrived in Taichung. This well-known purveyor of good old flavors from Lukang is now being run by its fourth generation of owners, who still insist hand-making all their food. The four most popular items here are sausages, chicken rolls, shrimp balls and meat balls. Customers can enjoy them in the shop or opt for the home-delivery service. Prices are also very reasonable--the Braised Minced Pork with Rice is NT$25 and a set meal is NT$109. Fourth-generation owner Mr. Xie says that the widespread love for his establishment's unforgettable flavors has always been the main motivation behind the business. --By May Chen, translated by Angel Pu

A. Specialty Noodles (NT$80) are made with authentic, hearty ingredients. The noodles also contain MSG-free shrimp balls and meat balls made with pork hindquarters. The meat is juicy and the soup is refreshing and tasty.

B. Braised Minced Pork with Rice Set (NT$109) uses pork skin that is dried for weeks before being stewed to give it a very special taste. Specialty Braised Pork with Rice (NT$25) is chewy and also has a unique flavor that goes best with side dishes like soft-boiled eggs, white chopped meat, soup with pork meatballs and a couple other vegetables. Delicious and nutritious juicy sausages and chicken rolls are also made the traditional way here.
