Silver Spoon offers a brand-new type of hot pot dining. The Southeast Asian-style Thai broth contains citronella, lemongrass, coconut milk and fish sauce, and was created by the youthful Thai chef who already has 11 years of experience. Weekday lunch and afternoon tea are NT$299; holiday and weekday dinners are NT$369. There are also 15 a la carte dishes like Spiced Chicken with Chili Sauce, Stir-Fried Spiced Seafood, and Stir-Fried Water Spinach with Shrimp Sauce (NT$160-320). A. An all-you-can-eat buffet here will ensure that you leave fully sated. The waiters push serving carts to tables, allowing customers to select from fresh vegetables. The dining area is also spacious and relaxed.
B. There are four hot pot flavors available, including Lemon Grass, Spicy Flavor, and the pictured Thai Green Curry and Sour & Spicy. These broths are cooked with plenty of vegetables with added lemon fish sauce, green chili, citronella and galangal (a kind of ginger) for flavoring. Customers can choose two kinds of meat--pork or beef. The sourness and spiciness of the broth and oils from the meat create an exotic Southeast Asian flavor. Appetizers like Shrimp Crackers, Green Papaya Marinated with Passion Fruit, Cold Chicken Feet, various seafood balls and mushrooms are all-you-can-eat.
C.Selections include Moon-Shaped Shrimp Cake (NT$250), Grilled Beef (NT$280), Steamed Fish with Lemon (NT$320) and Curry Prawn (NT$280). The marinated, grilled beef is very juicy and a bit crispy, and goes best with onions and some Thai Sweet and Spicy Sauce for a refreshing flavor.
