"Zhutego" describes the Japanese flat-bottomed iron pots used here. This shop serves authentic Japanese dishes and innovative sauces--fruit vinegar, sesame and spicy miso--to help accent the food's flavors and unique texture. All this is presented Western-style with appetizers and desserts, and the chef utilizes Japanese ingredients to create entrees with French-style presentation for an elegant dining experience. The set meal (NT$329/person, NT$369/person on Saturdays) provides all-you-can-eat meat and NT$188 business set meals are also available from Monday to Friday. --By May Chen, translated by Sho Huang
A. There are three kinds of broth to choose from--sukiyaki, seaweed and miso. These pure, high-quality soups highlight the original flavors of all the ingredients. A choice of white rice, glass noodles or udon noodles comes with an order. With the exception of the seaweed broth hot pot, all pots are served in imported iron pots from Japan. The iron ions released by these help to rapidly transfer heat and lock the broth into meat, making it a particular favorite among female diners. Appetizers include Smoked Chicken Caesar Salad and there is a Caramel Creme Brulee dessert.
B. Six choices of meat have been specially provided here, including pork jowl, New Zealand low-fat beef and Angus veal.
