As its name implies, Kanpai Classic's interior combines classic and modern Japanese styles. The most popular feature here are the dozens of top-quality grill selections made from different selections of beef. --By Niang Chen, translated by Angel Pu

A. The Wagyu Combo (NT$1,380) includes various beef cuts, such as the Chuck Tail Flap, Wagyu Short Plate, Flank Steak and Thick Flank. These taste even better paired with sake.

B. Developed by the Japanese chef, Golden Shrimp Kamameshi (kettle rice, NT$330) is a fresh, fragrant, risotto-like entree that includes various kinds of shrimp, bamboo-shoot cubes, and high-quality Taiwan rice. All Kamameshi comes with a soup stock that diners can pour into the bowl.

老乾杯C. The cheese in the Cream Cheese with Taiwanese Dry Fruit (NT$180) contains local Taiwanese dried fruit. Another fresh, flavorful menu choice is the Surface Smoked Salmon with Pomelo Mayonnaise (NT$280).
