While Taichung city is known for providing a cornucopia of exquisite delicacies, there is a growing number of diners seeking out simple, fresh-tasting cuisine. For such folks, Siji Stew Soup, offering reasonably-priced, high-quality soups, might be just the ticket. Siji uses fresh ingredients such as chickens from Houli and bamboo shoots from Nantou's Bamboo Mountain and its chef--former executive chef for Tripod King hotpot restaurant--regularly develops various delicious, healthy soups according to different seasons. Besides soup, Siji also offers various pickled dishes, traditional Taiwanese braised pork rice, healthy sweet soup, and tea drinks. --By Gill Wang, translated by Angel Pu
