Well-known restaurant group Tripodking recently opened this yakiniku (grill) restaurant. Its Chinese name's double meaning—"select salt" and "well-chosen"—expresses the restaurant's focus on using specially-selected salts to highlight the meat's original flavors. Unlike other grill restaurants, the air inside Yansyuan is surprisingly fresh, meaning you don't walk out reeking of smoke after enjoying your meal. Featuring low-key but stylish decor and top-grade beef, pork, seafood, rice and other ingredients, Yansyuan allows you to savor tasty yakiniku delicacies in elegant surroundings. --By Angel Pu, translated by Angel Pu

A. Four other flavors of salt (black snowflake salt, red salt, smoky snowflake salt, and Kashmiri pink salt) are also provided on each table.

B. The juicy, tender Natural Marbled Beef (NT$260) comes with salted chopped scallions, and tastes even better with the restaurant's special Diamant de sel (diamond salt).

YansyuanC. Located at the corner of GongYi and JingCheng roads, Yansyuan resembles a high-end boutique.
