Owner Chris Li graduated from Japan's Le Cordon Bleu school and aims to bring his unique French-style cooking to Taichung with this establishment. The classic-looking, stylish white interior and red tablecloths complement the restaurant's Japanese impeccable attention to detail and romantic French atmosphere. A lunch set (from NT$680) includes focaccia, soup, salad, an entree, dessert, and tea/coffee. Dinner sets (from NT$1,280) are prepared with top-quality ingredients selected by Chef Li. --By Uvia Chang, translated by Angel Pu

A. The juicy and tender Sauteed U.S. Sirloin Beef with Green Pepper Demiglace Sauce is perfect with black salt, spice salt, and black pepper sauce.

B. Sesame Salmon Salad with Mustard Dressing is a refreshing dish that goes well with the handmade mustard and vinegar dressing. The edges of the salmon are coated in white sesame and pan-fried just slightly to enhance flavors.

Charmant-French-CuisineC. Charmant has private rooms that need to be reserved in advance.
