Debbie McGuire has transformed her former Bava Taiwanese restaurant into this relaxing, very large, two-floor dining and drinking spot. Her goal is to offer healthy Western comfort food that incorporates some local flavors and quality ingredients. This includes creative burgers (NT$220-260), sandwiches, pasta (NT$280-300), pizza, omelets, salads and desserts. A spacious, attractive bar area upstairs includes a pool table, darts and table and bar seating. --By Douglas Habecker, translated by Angela Cheng

A. Seared Ahi Salad (NT$360) includes sliced, lightly pan-fried sashimi-quality tuna served with greens, sweet potatoes, quality Changhua eggs and mustard seed sauce. Also pictured are Quinoa Biscuits (NT$160 for 5), made with locally-grown quinoa and served with pineapple jam homemade from organic Taiwanese pineapples, plus honey. The NT$160 Smoothies are made with homemade yogurt, fresh fruit and no syrups.

B. Another top pick is Roasted Pork Ribs with Parmesan Fries, Papaya Coleslaw and Apple/Cranberry Sauce (NT$580/half, NT$980/whole).

C. This tropical-feeling place has banana leaf-green walls, glass front facing the Art Museum Parkway, and attractive indoor/outdoor seating.
