This Japanese "izakaya"-style spot is ideal for enjoying barbecues and beers under cool autumn evening skies. Its outdoor garden, surrounded by trees decorated with cherry blossom-like mini lights, adds a romantic ambiance, and the seafood barbecue is made with high-end ingredients like king crabs, eels, mud crabs, abalone and freshly-purchased live fish. Many entrees are handmade, including grilled salted pork, Matsusaka pork, grilled salmon head with salt, big oysters and large iced fish. Even the free appetizers are unique, like Peanuts for State Banquets, served to foreign guests during Chen Shui-bian's presidency, or the distinctly-flavored kimchi, pickled by the owner's friend, a former Japanese restaurant chef. This is also a good place for feasts and family gatherings. --By Ann Li, translated by Alicia Yu
