Youthful owner Ms. Lai opened this simple, bright establishment with her mother. They visit the market daily to buy fresh vegetables, meat and fish, used in their home-style main courses (NT$180-260), such as Fried Stewed Bitter Gourd with Pork, Braised Pork with Preserved Vegetables, and Sesame Oil Chicken. Each is paired with two stir-fried vegetable dishes, steamed egg with clams, daily soup, and black or green tea, which can be swapped for other drinks such as coffee, juice or milk tea by making up price difference. --By Uvia Chang, translated by Eva Liao
A. The wholesome, delicious dishes include Deep Fried Chicken with Hot Sauce (NT$200). Made with lemons, chilies and spices, the sauce pairs wonderfully with the crispy chicken and rice. The Fried Pork Chop is crispy on the outside, but juicy and tender inside.
B. Steamed Yellow Croaker (NT$260) features fresh fish steamed with sebastan plum cordia. Besides green or black tea, there is also homemade Green Bean Milk (NT$80).
C. The relaxing ambiance includes decorative "Nutcracker" dolls.
