After spending 30 years as a general contractor in Los Angeles, "Big Steve" Young decided to return to his hometown to open this all-American burger/fast-food joint. Fans of California's famed In-N-Out Burger may find the flavors here familiar, as Steve says his burgers are faithful replicas, right down to the sauces and "secret menu" requests from customers. --By Douglas Habecker, translated by Anna Yang

A. Steve Young stands at the first-floor American diner-style seating bar. Upstairs is a spacious, attractive area with comfortable tables and chairs seating about 30.

B. A quarter-pound patty of high-grade beef fills Big Steve's Cheese Burger (NT$119), with two patties used in the Big Steve's Double (NT$169). Add NT$80 to any burger, tuna sandwich or fried chicken for a set with fries and an all-you-can-drink soft drink. Also pictured is Big Steve's Sunny Tots (NT$99), an egg and bacon over tater tots.

C. The Sampler (NT$180 for 2 people, NT$350 for 4) is a generous mix of pop-corn chicken, fries, mozzarella sticks and other fried delights.
