This Japanese barbecue place has family ties to Taichung's old, famed Style Cafe. Vegetables and most meats are sourced directly from local farms, helping to ensure worry-free, quality dining. Japanese imported high-temperature grills are smoke-free, creating grilled items that are crispy and juicy. Set meals for two are NT$1,580 to NT$2,180, and a la carte items include American Prime beef (NT$260-680), pork and seafood (NT$120-240) and veggies (NT$60). --By Niang Chen, translated by Anna Yang

A. The filling, Classic Set for Two (NT$1,680) includes appetizers, chef's salad, soup, Matsusaka pork, sauteed pork belly, beef chops and ribs, duck marinated with cherry sauce, chicken thigh, shrimp, clams, rice, and dessert, satisfying any committed carnivore.

B. The recommended Rice Topped with Beef Tendon (NT$80) is made with a secret recipe and simmered 4-6 hours with anise, cumin, turmeric and herbs. The flavorful, aromatic final product is excellent with lots of rice.

C. Premium Marbled Beef (NT$580) is among a la carte items and pleasing to the eye and palate.
