This restaurant, a new brand from Kitazawa International Food & Beverage Business Co., introduces Japanese stand-up dining culture, including self-service food ordering, pick-up and delivery of plates back to the kitchen. Reasonably-priced, authentic Japanese family-style entrees (NT$130-160) include the recommended Eggs in Burger Patty, Fried Fish with Wasabi, Grilled Tomato Nuggets, and Stir-Fried Meat and Veggies, available with side dishes like egg rolls, tomato salad and chips (NT$60-80), plus Taiwanese east-coast rice, soup and dessert (from NT$20). Uniquely, all these are ordered on a screen with clear pictures and description. The stand-up dining area is convenient for individual customers, although there is a seating area for families and other groups. The amusing, creative decor includes Japanese/Chinese illustrated instruction wall murals, and creative items like postcards, T-shirts and hippie-style masking tapes are sold via vending machine. Ten free meals are available on first-come, first-served basis each day to share a bit of extra happiness with customers. --By Niang Chen, translated by Anna Yang
