Pazzi Dolch Pizza Cafe

(04) 2325-2367
17, GuanQian Rd, West Dist
Hours: 11 am-2:30 pm, 5:30-9 pm (closed Thu)

This youthful-feeling restaurant seats 35 in a relaxed setting directly opposite Calligraphy Greenway and Caves Bookstore. About one-third of the 21 10-inch pizzas (NT$160-320) here are the creative, tasty inventions of Chef Clark Liao. Divided into "Tomato Sauce" and "White Sauce" categories, these include the Thai-style Spicy Fried Shredded Chicken; American-style Brooklyn, made with spicy salami, bolognese meatballs, and ricotta and romano cheese; or the Specialty, with cream sauce, blue cheese, tender steak slices, rocket lettuce and honey, sprinkled with parmesan cheese. To make his thin-crust pizzas, which are thicker and crispier around the edges, Clark allows his dough to rise slowly at low temperature for at least 12 hours. There are also four six-inch dessert pizzas (NT$150-180) like the Affogato, served with a scoop of ice cream, plus salads, soup and mostly-fried appetizers. Drinks include smoothies, coffees, Twinings teas, and American craft ales from Sierra Nevada and Stone. --By Douglas Habecker, translated by Anna Yang
