Soroo Cafe

(04) 2323-9912
1035, JianXing Rd, West Dist
Hours: 11:30 am-9 pm (closed Mon)

SoRoo Cafe keeps things fresh and interesting with a monthly food battle. Each month, the chefs present two new dishes to the existing menu and these battle it out for semi-permanent spot. The more popular item will be added to the menu with the losing dish and poorest seller being thrown out, creating a constant stream of fresh options and an ever-changing menu. Assisting in this battle are billboards featuring two fighting kangaroos and the two competing dishes. Menu choices include a Cubano Sandwich Miami Style (NT$188) filled with a delicious mojo pulled pork, Boston Festive Lobster Roll (NT$218) and a USA Flat Iron Steak (NT$218). Additional items not a part of the food battle include Australia Nachos (NT$120)--waffle chips covered in Mojo pulled pork, cheese, and jalapenos--and Beer Onion Rings (NT$65). All ingredients are made in-house except for the bread, which is provided by a local baker. --By Taylor Melton, translated by Yinno Yeh
