Yui Tang Chun Taiwanese Traditional Local Cuisine

(04) 2301-3008
220, MeiCun Rd, Sec 1, West Dist
Hours: 11:30 am-2:30 pm, 5:30-8:30 pm (closed Tue)

While the outside sign here resembles that of a tea shop, the specialty inside is traditional Taiwanese delicacies. The tidy interior features an open kitchen where you can see the youthful chef, who has overseas cooking experience, at work preparing the variety of flavorful, traditional and reasonably-priced offerings that can be enjoyed by individuals or groups. The Recommended Braised Pork Over Rice (NT$35) includes chewy rice from Taitung's Guangshan, topped with savory sauce and tender pork belly chunks that melt in the mouth. Soups (NT$55-60) are fresh and take time to make and side dishes include Plain Tofu (NT$20/small) drizzled with authentic Chaozhou style sauce, and Intimate Dried Tofu (NT$45) made with non-GMO soy beans. --By Helen Young, translated by Anna Yang
