As the dual signs indicate, newly-opened Blue Water Cafe is also the new location for the Bhoom gay/lesbian hang-out. This medium-sized, comfortable-looking bar hosts Bhoom every night except Mondays and has regular performances by bands like Dudes and Milk Thursdays through Sundays. On Fridays and Saturdays, there is a NT$300 cover charge, giving customers the equivalent amount in "Bhoom dollars" to spend. Blue Water is located in what used to be Chinatown restaurant, on the corner opposite the Taichung Harbor Road fire station, between the Chienhsing and Meitsun road intersections.
