The heart of the Canal District--HuaMei Street and HuaMei West Street--can be considered Taichung's pub district, with a variety of different styles on offer. Angel Kiss feels like both a lounge and a small bar. Asked where the name came from, owner David says that it originates from a tasty cocktail made with Creme de Cacao and fresh cream. There are seats on both the first and second floors, arranged in both an open-seating style and more private areas. There is a good red wine selection with prices between NT$1,200 and NT$2,500/bottle. The whiskeys and other liquors on offer are all a little cheaper than at most pubs. There are also about 15 cocktails to choose from, priced between NT$200 and NT$300. On the menu you will also find Lamb Chops for NT$300, and Roast Beef for NT$200. Even though this is a fairly big lounge, the atmosphere is very cozy. All ladies can enjoy a free Angel Kiss cocktail without a minimum charge. First-time visitors should be aware that the entrance is on a side lane.
