Fresco attracts the after-work crowd, coming here to unwind and enjoy good food and drinks in a comfortable, sleek lounge-style setting.
Adding to the chilled-out ambience is the warm, soothing, funky house music played by the DJs, in contrast to the harder-hitting club music heard in many other city establishments. Despite the upscale, chic environment, a reasonably-priced menu and varied entertainment means this is a place that is accessible to all. In addition to the sofa areas, there is a long bar, a small DJ/dance area and outdoor lounge seating.
Left: The Bacon Cheese Burger (NT$300) is
a popular menu choice.
Medium: There is plenty of seating in an outdoor
lounge area for customers to enjoy.
Fresco has a large, varied and mostly-Western menu. From 6 to 9 p.m., customers can order more restaurant-oriented cuisine, including a range of burgers, sandwiches and pasta entrees (NT$180-450). Lighter snacks such as the Chicken Nuggets (NT$250) and Buffalo Wings (NT$250) can be selected from 9.30 p.m. on.
A variety of beers are available, including bottled Heineken and Desperado (NT$200), plus Erdinger (NT$180) and Kronenbourg 1664 (NT$200) on tap. There is also a wide range of fancy cocktails (NT$200-300), wines, other spirits and soft drinks. It's also worthwhile to stay alert for promotional and special offers on drinks on Fresco's Facebook page, which normally advertises these a week in advance.
If this wasn't enough incentive, Fresco hosts a number of special regular events that include Tuesday Jazz Nights with live music, Thursday Student Nights (cocktails NT$100 if you show your student card), and DJs on other nights. Each month, depending on availability, guest DJs are invited from Taipei clubs and other places around the island for a big event. This summer, Fresco is running some exciting summer themed parties, with Taipei's DJ Eazy E playing for a July 11 party.
Fridays and Saturdays are the busiest nights, with tables available by reservation. The venue can also be specially booked for birthdays and wedding parties; call to inquire about pricing and availability.
Left: One of the exciting cocktails on offer, the Oasis (NT$300)
contains tequila, mango, peppermint syrup and ginger ale.
