COMPASS MAGAZINE, NOVEMBER 2000. VOL. 7 ISSUE 11

JMATRIX GYM

3F, 631, Chungteh Road , sec. 1
Tel: (04) 2231 4777
Hours: 7 a.m. - 11 p.m.

Exercise buffs looking for something refreshingly-different should make their way to Jmatrix Gym, located above the Chungteh Road Carrefour hypermarket, where Belgian Jose Del Campo has set up an excellent facility, complete with weight room (with lots of free weights and top-of-the-line machines), racquet ball and squash courts, sauna, steam bath, children's play room and regular programs for hi/low/step aerobics, power yoga, calisthenics and other things. In particular, Del Campo offers expert nightly classes (9-11 p.m. week days) in Thai Boxing--the first on the island. With about 25 years of experience, including coaching of world-class Thai boxers, Del Campo has already drawn Taiwanese and foreign students of all ages and both sexes, who pay NT$700/month if they are members of the gym and NT$2,000 if not. To the end of the year, the NT$32,000 annual membership is being offered with a 20-percent discount.
