The Cultural Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government will be holding a regular series of 3D Projection Mapping Light Shows during 2014 at the old Taichung City Hall. The 'Light Up Taichung' 3D Projection Mapping Light Shows take place every Saturday at 7, 8, and 9 p.m. The featured video showcases the 'Bright Century' works from last year with additional footages of different designs based on various festivals taking place throughout the year. The vivid 3D-animation project covers the hundred years of the historic old Taichung City Hall building, transforming old Taichung City Hall into a captivating, brilliant outdoor art venue. All are welcome to stop by and enjoy this spectacle.
'Bright Century' presents the beauty of the past century at old Taichung City Hall, encompassing the development of architecture, humanities and industries in Taichung and a future vision of the city. It includes four parts, starting with Taichung's traditional industries a hundred years ago. The second part goes back to 1913, when the old Taichung City Hall was built during the Japanese colonial period. The third part covers the changes and the happiness during the postmodern era. Following is the Taiwan's retrocession to the ROC. The final part looks at technological development and celebrates the past century. Every period has its own specific elements, allowing audience to recall memories from different eras as they embark on this imaginary journey of images and sound.
