Old Japanese Taichung

By Evan Yelverton
Translated by S. Ying

While modern Japan continues to exert an influence on Taichung today, the old downtown still shows the influence of the earlier Japanese colonial period with some beautiful architecture that inspires even now. Pictured here are a few of the iconic buildings of the Japanese era, which can be viewed on a leisurely walking tour of two or three hours.
