When it comes to popular recreational options in Taichung, swimming has joined hiking, jogging and biking as a top choice. Thankfully, the city has a number of excellent indoor and outdoor pools perfect for those for swimmers of all ages and levels. Below is a small sampling.
Chaoma Sports Center
Taichung City's first comprehensive sports center opened at the end of 2016 and includes an indoor 25-meter, eight-lane heated pool, plus a children's pool, spa pool, steam room, and changing and shower rooms. A pool disinfection system here helps reduce water chlorine levels.

Tempus Hotel Mandara Life Club
This swimming pool, just meters from Taiwan Boulevard, belongs to Tempus Hotel, is hidden behind Mandara Life Club fitness center and offers a resort-like setting with palm trees, deck chairs and umbrellas. Besides hotel guests, the pool is also open to Mandara Life Club membership holders.

Feng Chia University outdoor swimming pool
This standard 25-meter, 10-lane outdoor pool is closed November to March as it's a non-heated pool, as well as during the holidays of Chinese New Year, Tomb Sweeping Day, Dragon Boat Festival, and Moon Festival.

SW MALL (Shuei Wu)
This indoor pool on DaYe Road offers a sunbathing pool, gym and weight room. Swimmers can enjoy swimming within this pool space with UV-blocking windows using nanotechnology installed. For membership information (as a request to use the pool), contact the pool staff.
