Given the number of people who wear glasses in Taiwan, it's no surprise that there is such a thing as high-end eyewear boutiques. That is exactly what TG (Torng Guang) Glasses is, offering a broad range of 20 to 30 European and Japanese designer glasses brands, including a number of names not easily found elsewhere and the latest designs. These include Starck Eyes, an eyewear line created by world-famous French designer Philippe Starck. Other European brands include Alain Mikli, Porsche Design, Salvatore Ferraganno, and TAG. Japanese brands include Seven Samurai and Japonism. Altogether, there are about 700 to 800 different frames to choose from, with prices averaging about NT$12,000 each, but ranging from about NT$6,000 to almost NT$100,000. TG offers a full range of services to its customers as well, including free glasses cleanings and adjustments. Compass Magazine readers who refer to this article can enjoy a 10% discount on top of any other existing discounts on offer.
