Since the days of old, wine has been the drink of the sophisticated and refined. In modern times, however, understanding wines and pairing them with meals can be quite intimidating. Thankfully, you need not look further than Terroir Wine, whose French owner, Remi LeGris, is one of the most knowledgeable, yet approachable, individuals this writer has ever spoken to about wine. His inventory features an incredible selection of fine wines, which he can assist you in pairing with any meal or occasion. He stocks rarer vintages such as Vinho Verde "green wine" from Portugal (NT$640), or the coveted French Jura yellow wine (NT$3,000), reputed to be a favorite of Napoleon III. This shop also features a selection of fine champagnes and sparkling wines, such as Vouvray de Chanceny (NT$970), an excellent sparkling wine with apple and white chocolate essences as well as a hint of acacia flower flavors.
