J-Mall is a great place for family and friend gatherings, especially on weekends where there is a market fair. Every Saturday and Sunday, organizer Lin Huan-cen offers very original local art and handicraft creations selected by him, making the fair is an excellent platform for artists to showcase their talents and for customers to browse and buy creative art rather than commercialized items. For example, one can find elegant handmade, European-style hair bands, handmade kids' and adults' shoes, and customized glass-bead jewelry ornaments. In addition to such very unique original-design wares, the fair features edibles like the taro ball snacks popularized on the Internet. While this market isn't huge, such offerings fill it with variety and interesting finds.
