Easily one of the coolest-looking cafes to open in Taichung, Maui
Coffee gets its name from the fact that it carries products from
the Maui Coffee Company and Pacific Coffee Inc., including delicious
Hawaiian blends like Maui Blend Chocolate Nut, Vanilla Macadamia
Nut, Hula Pie, and Banana Nut.Other available coffee includes Italian
Illy-brand beans. Prices range from NT$90 to NT$160 for hot or iced
cups of joe and there are also ice creams, flower teas, juices,
various types of waffles, cakes, sandwiches (NT$90) and three breakfast
deals for NT$80 to NT$120 (available to 10:30 a.m.). One of
the best things about Maui Coffee is its swanky, attractive decor,
both downstairs, where there is also outdoor seating, and upstairs,
making it a neat place to hang out at. The cafe is located on Pokuan
Road, under the shadow of Taichung Botanical Garden's giant glass
greenhouse. (Keep in mind that Pokuan Rd. makes a giant arc around
the science museum, connecting to Chienhsing on both ends. The cafe
is on the one end closer to the Minchuan/Chienhsing roads intersection.)
