Many people visit Florence Coffee Shop out of curiosity about its famous owner, Ku Ling. Most are pleasantly surprised to find that it is decorated not in the avant-garde style of Ku Ling, but in a style reminiscent of an old Italian cafe. There are soft-lit table lamps and prints of famous paintings. In addition, bamboo screens provide partitions between tables and the courtyard area is filled with plants and flowers. Thus, coming to Florence is like being transported to old Italy. Early on, Florence became popular for its Italian-style steak (NT$250). The beef is marinated overnight and then grilled to perfection and served with a special sauce. Other dishes include baked snapper and salmon in cream sauce (both NT$220). The chicken leg (NT$220) is also a good choice. Milk teas are among other Florence specialties and include the Florence Milk Tea, which is topped with hot milk and cinnamon powder (NT$130/pot), and the light-purple lavender milk tea (NT$130/pot). Top off your visit to Florence with one of their luscious desserts, such as sweet cheese pastry (NT$40).
