THE
NAKED CAFÉ
225, Tatun 10th Street, 1F
 |
Despite its name, this café is not a nudist hangout.
According to the owner, the "naked" label reflects
the self-made, no-outside-help nature of her café.
Indeed, this pleasant, little open-air place is a personal
labor of love, with everything from the salad dressings to
the tables—constructed from wooden wine and liquor crates—made
from scratch by hand. There is seating for about 20 inside
and under a shaded patio that looks out the road and the owner's
potted herbs. Classic rock often plays on the stereo and a
TV shows sports and other programs. Food and drink here is
priced very low. A favorite is the Classic Beef or Vegetable
Lasagna (NT$100/NT$120 with fries). Other dishes include Chicken
Foccacia, several pasta dishes like Lemon Wine Chicken and
Pesto Cream, Spanish Seafood Risotto (NT$120), and Hungarian
Beef Goulash (NT$120). Order any of these and get a choice
of free drink, soup or salad. Beers and other drinks like
Tiger, Heineken, Corona, Smirnoff Ice, Two Dogs Lemon Vodka,
and the house white and red wines are all only NT$80 each.
Coffees, sodas and teas are even cheaper. Heading south on
Tatun Road, turn right onto Tatun 10th Street a block past
Carrefour and the café's a 100 meters down on the left,
on the corner with Ta Ying Street.
