Just around the corner from Pear Cafe's ChongDe branch, 7 Days is an attractive shop almost fully focused on moist, flavorful, but not overly-sweet, chiffon cakes. All seven varieties--Vanilla, Lemon, Banana, Green Tea, Chocolate, Coffee, and Ceylon Tea--rely on real ingredients (versus artificial flavorings) that provide more genuine-tasting flavors. These include local mountain bananas, fresh-squeezed lemon juice and peels, coffee beans, and imported Japanese matcha powder. Harney & Sons teas are also sold for take-home. All customers enjoy free, all-you-can-drink coffee and tea from outside dispensers.--By Douglas Habecker, translated by Angela Cheng

A. The only seating at 7 Days is in a pleasant outdoor area by a little garden, and most customers do take-out.

B. The one other non-cake dessert here is soft-serve chocolate, banana or mixed (pictured) gelato (NT$70), served with dried cake squares.

7 DaysC. Cake is sold by the slice (NT$48) or whole (NT$480). Six toppings (NT$20/container) like raspberry (pictured), caramel or truffle chocolate are also available.
