Cao Tian Space's cheerful and talkative owner, Hsiao Lien, transformed what was originally a studio into an art space and coffee shop. Every corner here is inspired by the studio's original design and all coffee-related items are from the owner's past collection, including the Nikko cups and trays, Allesi trays and a Moka pot, which has been used for two decades. This place is also home to some plants and Hsiao Lien's cat, who has been with her for eight years. This means that stepping into this place is as relaxing and comfortable as visiting a friend's home.
As noted above, this space is not just for art, but also serves as a cafe. Besides coffee, other drinks here include juices, teas and beers. One unique, natural beverage is a forage juice from Puli. In addition, you can enjoy a brunch here or try the special fried rice and heavy cream. All the dishes here (NT$100-250) are homemade and the minimum charge is NT$100/person.
A variety of activities is hosted here. For example, on Wednesday you can enjoy a 7 p.m. movie that is followed by a discussion and sharing. Even more unique is the opportunity to have fun cooking with family members, coworkers or friends, either bringing over the ingredients yourself or asking the owner to buy them for you. The kitchen-use fee is NT$500 for three people, with NT$100 added for each additional person.
