This cafe bistro has old-style checkered windows that create a bright, nostalgic ambiance, plus wall-mounted photos, giving it an art studio or bookstore vibe perfect for people-watching while relaxing over a cup of coffee, book or perhaps your notebook, interspersed with some food and drink when you're hungry or thirsty. --By Shi Yong-feng , translated by S. Ying

A. Served between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., French Toast (NT$200) with ham, poached eggs with Hollandaise sauce, cheese, kimchi, fries, onion rings, fruit and salad is a satisfying, fairly nutritious American-style meal.

B. Another appetizing option, Eggs Benedict (NT$210; available 9 a.m.-2 p.m.) includes salty pork, kiwifruit, onions, poached eggs with Hollandaise Sauce, a bacon banana roll, fruit and salad.

C. Spicy Seafood Squid Ink Risotto (NT$300, available after 11 a.m.) includes a variety of seafood such as clams, shrimp and squid, slowly cooked with the risotto to fill every bit with rich seafood flavors. Every meal includes a drink such as red or green tea or juice.
