Cha Me

(04) 2452-2930
82, FengJia Rd, West Dist
Hours: 10 am-12 am

Yunlin County native and Cha Me owner Amigo Chang recently opened this Fengjia Night Market tea house, which stands apart from its many competitors in a number of ways. Graphic designer Chu Hsiao-chiang has been invited to decorate a wall here and a series of Taichung-related cultural and creative products. Amigo is passionate about promoting quality Taiwanese teas and uses nine black tea varieties in his many drinks (NT$25-80), like the recommended Hongyu Black Tea TTES#18 (NT$70) and popular Honey Scented Black Tea TTES#12 (NT$40). There are also milk teas (NT$45-85), "tastable teas" (NT$40-95), fruit teas and juices (NT$45-90), and tea lattes (NT$55-90). A top-selling version of "pearl milk tea" is QQ Earl Black Tea Latte (NT$65), made by chewy, three-colored taro, sweet potato and tapioca "pearls", high-quality Earl Grey black tea and fresh milk from the Chia Ming Diary. Another favorite is Sesame Pudding Milk Tea (NT$60), mixed with milky handmade pudding. --Words and translated by Tamsin Lai
