Toyohara Coffee Roasters

(04) 2528-4282
42, YuanFeng Rd, Fengyuan Dist
Hours: 8:30 am-6 pm

One feels like they've traveled back in time as they savor a cup of coffee at this cafe, gazing at Japanese colonial-era concrete and bamboo walls and cypress-wood pillars. The owner spent seven months renovating this century-old house, which encourages customers to linger over freshly-roasted Single Origin Coffee (NT$120-280) in a nostalgic setting. Options include both pour-over and siphon made coffees with unique flavors. Specialty Coffees (NT$70-150) are brewed with four kinds of coffee beans, while Shake Symphony (NT$150) is prepared by shaking Italian espresso until it becomes foam. Take a sip of this espresso foam out of a cup and chew a lemon slice on the side, then pour lime flavored sparkling water into the foam and enjoy an unforgettable enjoyment of the smooth flavors. --By Chloe Chang, translated by Anna Yang
