Nilakantha Dharani

Artist: Imee Ooi
Title: Mantras of the Sanskrit, Nilakantha Dharani, Amitabha, Guan Yin Bodhisattva
Label: Wind Records

--By Uvia Chang, translated by Cara Steenstra

Talented Buddhist musician from Malaysia Imee Ooi has produced another four Buddhist music albums: "Mantras of the Sanskrit", "Nilakantha Dharani", "Amitabha" and "Guan Yin Bodhisattva". Setting aside the conventional monotone style of Buddhist chants, Imee Ooi has not only rearranged the music but also added soft female vocals throughout the album. Those who have listened to these albums will all be surprised by how easy it is to listen to. The lovely female vocals and soft music will bring a whole new level of relaxation for listeners and will also appeal to those who are non-Buddhists.
