The COMPASS Group, May 2006

Artist: Jeffrey Michael
Title: Kaleidoscope
Label: JINGO Music

Jeffrey Michael has studied piano since he was 6 and has won acclaim in many places with his skills. Not yet 30, Michael already has six albums and has performed in hundreds of concerts. As if that weren't enough, he is also now a well-known music producer. His paisley-patterned CD cover is very attractive, but I skipped reading the introduction as I didn't want to be influenced before listening to the music. Piano music lovers will definitely fall in love with this CD when they hear the first song of the album, "Keystone". "Kaleidoscope", "Gulf Winds" and "Midnight Star" are all filled with emotions that come through in each and every note of the music. Even music critics from AMP (Alternate Music Press) believe that loyal fans of David Lanz and George Winston will fall in love with the music of Jeffrey Michael. This is exactly how I felt as I listened to this CD over and over again, so that it was no longer music coming from the speakers, but one story after another, telling a different tales to different listeners. --By James Su, translated by Cara Steenstra
