With a fork painted on its signboard, newly-opened Forchetta welcomes customers in every language. Outdoor seating and French windows create a feeling of open space and the simple, comfortable interior decorations don't distract your attention from the delicious food. The artistic-looking owner and chef, Max, provides excellent dishes with bountiful colors, smells and flavors. Spanish Tapas (NT$100-NT$400) and Italian thin-crust pizza (NT$220-NT$380) are both popular. To sample one unique entree, Tije Mustard Roasted Mutton Chop (NT$500), you have to make a reservation an hour before. Wines, carefully selected by well-known local wine tasters, are excellent, costing NT$700/bottle and up. There is also a 40-percent discount for afternoon tea cakes. In addition, Forchetta also features the perfect complement to its food selections--dining accessory shop Pekoe, run by epicure Ilang Yeh. --By Ken Lin
