A large bear sitting by
the entrance greets customers as they walk in.
A painting on the wall, brought back from overseas
20 years ago, catches people's eyes. Every item
inside--the owner's precious collection--is
spectacular, but nothing is for sale. On the
floor lies a pair of clogs bought in Holland;
they were too conspicuous to wear in Taiwan,
and thus serve as decorations. The lamps are
turned on by touching, and with each tap they
become brighter. Beside each lamp there is a
model of a bear. The window drapes are made
from silk; overall, the d?or makes for a cozy
atmosphere.
The owner is very fond
of delicious food; she loves to share her dining
experiences and try out different types of cuisine.
I decided to order the Seafood Rice. The presentation
was exceptional: carrots, sliced meat, wood
ear, peas, squid, egg, shrimp, and broccoli
make for a colorful, aromatic, and tasty meal.
The dessert was also great: simple mesona containing
green beans and creamer. Other dishes available
here include Seafood Noodles, Beef Rice Bowl,
Miso Fish Rice, Hakka Dumplings, Caesar Salad,
and Pork Curry Rice. Some dishes involve more
complicated preparation and need to be ordered
in advance. All meal sets are priced at NT$120.
Careful management is evident
throughout. The kitchen is kept separate from
the dining area, to ensure the restaurant is
clean and not greasy. Those who like great food
should try this place.
