For those hot summer days, that old favorite, Pearl Milk Tea ( "zhen zhu nai cha" or Bubble Tea) can't be beat. An ice-cold, sweet tea ( with less sugar than a typical soft drink) that has giant tapioca balls at the bottom, consumed through an extra-wide straw, this is a drink that is now becoming popular all over the world. Not only that but, when it's too hot to eat, that tapioca will help keep you going during a busy day. There are literally thousands of places around Taipei to get hold of this wonderful drink but one place we'd recommend is Ichiban, located in the busy area surrounded by DunHua, XinYi and AnHe roads. The drink is made to perfection, the staff are wonderfully friendly and they also offer a wide range of other refreshing tea drinks (prices NT$20-NT$45). The Pearl Milk Tea sells for NT$25.
