With big French windows, good lighting and high-ceiling decor, Figaro is a comfortable European eatery. Blue-coloured tablecloths during lunchtime project an energetic feel, but are changed to purple for dinner, which is more classy and elegant. Occasionally, there will be cultural lectures and wine-tasting events, and the dishes altered with the seasons to stay fresh and creative. --By Josie Wu, translated by Ann Lee
A. In the NT$1,580 set meal, you can taste a delicious, Grilled Rib Eye Figaro Style with Classical Beef Consomme, while watching a flame show rby your table where they show you how the meat is cooked. The juice within the meat is mixed with alcohol for an aromatic smell while the tasty beef broth is sitting in a bowl. Don't just hang on to the meat, the broth is the essence of it all.
B. Dinner set meals start at NT$480; the Stewed White Wine Golden Prawn with Passion Fruit Sauce, although an appetizer, takes careful technique to prepare. The curled up prawn lies on top of what seems like Angel Hair pasta, but it is actually made with finely sliced white bamboo shoots. The dish is highly recommended because of its invigorating texture, which is a masterpiece on its own.
